Conservation
Republicans believe that environmental conservation should be balanced with the needs of the community when creating policy. Republicans recognize that the health and well-being of Americans come first and that quality of life is sustained through the wise management of resources.
Republicans believe that smart and safe modern resource harvesting has brought immeasurable benefits to humanity. Electricity powering our computers and phones, gas enabling efficient crop production, and natural gas heating our homes are all made possible through proven and efficient resource extraction methods. If you're reading this, you can thank the oil industry.
In a perfect world, Republicans would aim to reduce the reliance on certain natural resources, such as crude oil, but acknowledge that this remains a goal rather than a feasible destination at this time. Republicans also recognize that the extraction of minerals like cobalt in Africa has significantly increased human suffering. Republicans are unwilling to contribute to such suffering in pursuit of the myth of an oil-free economy.
Republicans advocate for clean and accessible resources such as water, land, air, and food. Republicans also recognize that minor tradeoffs are necessary to support domestic energy production, food supply, and animal habitat conservation. These tradeoffs include responsible oil extraction that strengthens the economy, modern farming techniques that feed the world, and the scientific management of wildlife populations.
Republicans advocate for the responsible use of our public lands. Republicans believe that outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and off-roading foster a deeper appreciation for the world we live in. Restricting responsible access to public lands can lead to a lack of understanding of nature, reduce tourism, harm the economy, and deprive people of a more fulfilling life.
Republicans advocate for proven policies that have effectively managed natural resources, contributing to the creation of the largest economy in world history. Republicans aim to increase domestic production of goods and services through responsible and environmentally clean processes. Reshoring American production creates more jobs, reduces homelessness, decreases pollution, and safeguards workers' rights. In contrast, imports from China exacerbate global pollution, support our greatest national security threat, and sustain an abusive communist government.
